To mark International Day of Forests on the 21st of March, tonight we take a closer look at the issue of forest plantations, which aims to turn degraded forests into a renewable source of timber. But in the last two decades, forest plantations have emerged as one of the top drivers of forest cover loss in Peninsular Malaysia. Has the strategy succeeded in providing a supply of sustainable timber, which will then reduce logging in natural forests?
