IRAN'S government spokesperson, Fatemeh Mohajerani, on Tuesday (May 26) accused the U.S. of inconsistencies and contradictions in ongoing negotiations.
Speaking at a news conference, Mohajerani said these issues remain a key challenge in the talks, adding this is "not a new issue".
Mohajerani's comments come as Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps said on Tuesday it reserved the "legitimate and definite" right to retaliate against any ceasefire violations by the U.S., adding that its air defence units had shot down a U.S. MQ-9 drone and fired at a fighter jet that had entered Iranian airspace, according to state media.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Tuesday that negotiating a deal with Iran could "take a few days," dimming hopes for an imminent end to the conflict after the U.S. conducted what it called defensive strikes in southern Iran.
