The move taken by Pakatan Harapan to exclude PAS from the coalition is disappointing, said UMNO Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin.

He said the absence of PAS in Pakatan Harapan was a big blow to Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), DAP and Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah).

“It is a big blow to Pakatan Harapan and based on the commentaries, their (Pakatan Harapan) move in excluding PAS is disappointing.

“They failed to convince PAS. This shows that their power especially in areas held by PAS is threatened.

“That was the decision taken by PAS. I feel that there is something done by DAP and PKR which was not agreed upon by PAS,” said Khairy.

Khairy added that Pakatan Harapan did not showcase a strong and united line-up to face the upcoming election.

He characterised the action taken by PKR and DAP of choosing to cooperate with Amanah as a disappointing move.

Yesterday, the opposition announced the formation of a new coalition, Pakatan Harapan, which excluded PAS.

Opposition leader, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Ismail said the organiser had invited PAS to join the discussion however was declined by PAS.
