DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng said Pakatan Harapan has no plans to work together with the new Opposition bloc, PAS-Ikatan, in the Sarawak state election.

He said it is difficult for Pakatan Harapan to work with the new bloc as they are unclear of its direction.

PAS formed an alliance with Ikatan on Wednesday, making them the third political force in the country.

“I think it is difficult because they have showed a tendency towards UMNO and BN and their statements are inconsistent,” he told reporters here.

Lim said there is also the issue of trust that needs to be addressed before the parties can work together.

DAP and PAS had a bitter fallout that led to the Pakatan Rakyat’s collapse. Following that, DAP, Parti Keadilan Rakyat and Amanah formed the Pakatan Harapan.

Amanah consist of former PAS leaders.

Previously, PKR had tried to get PAS to be part of the new coalition but the Islamic party had rejected the offer profusely, saying it could no longer work with “party traitors” and the DAP.

PAS had deemed Amanah as traitors for pinching its members from PAS, while the DAP had openly severed ties with PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang over the hudud issue.
