1Malaysia People’s Aid (BR1M) recipients who have yet to submit their bank accounts details have been urged to so as soon as possible.
Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Ahmad Maslan said updating their details with relevant authorities would help speed up the BR1M payment.
He said about two million of the 7.9 million recipients nationwide do not have a bank account.
“BR1M recipients can update their details at any district office, Inland Revenue office of village head,” he said after handing over the BR1M payment to the Pontian parliamentary constituency on Sunday.
Ahmad Maslan added one of the reasons why the BR1M applications were delayed was because they were processed manually and not online.
He also urged district offices to expedite the distribution of the BR1M and to do so by April to avoid anxiety among eligible recipients.
