A soldier was reportedly shot dead while two other members of the public were injured in a shooting incident at a 24-hour convenience store here around 4.45am on Wednesday.
State Crime Investigation Department chief, Sr Asst Comm Omar Mammah when contacted by Astro AWANI confirmed the incident.
“According to witnesses, the incident was believed to have taken place when the soldier was not allowed into the store.
“The suspect believed to be a soldier was said to have accidentally shot his friend and two of the convenience store workers,” said Omar.
Those who were injured on the shoulder and leg are in stable condition at the Lahad Datu hospital.
