Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Hamza Taib clarified that the soldier who died in a road accident yesterday was a passenger, and not the driver as earlier reported.

Hamza's statement came after there were news report that said that Pbt Ahmad Farhan Ruslan, 21, was the driver who lost control of the lorry.

The accident occured around 7.30 am on KM37 of Lahad Datu-Tanduo road.

The accident happened when the lorry driver lost control, and skidded, while on his way to Bandar Cenderawasih in the Felda Sahabat region, from Lahad Datu town.

Hamza added the lorry driver was injured. However, did not reveal the identity of the driver.
