PKR vice-president and Lembah Pantai MP Nurul Izzah Anwar was divorced by her husband Raja Ahmad Shahrir Iskandar Raja Salim at the Syariah High Court here today.

Raja Ahmad Shahrir pronounced the proclamation of divorce ('talak satu') before Judge Mohd Amran Mat Zain.

Nurul Izzah filed a petition for divorce in early January last year.

The pair were married on May 9, 2003. They have a daughter aged seven and a boy aged four.

Nurul Izzah, 34, is the eldest daughter of opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
