Main focus of Dewan Rakyat tomorrow, ahead of 2021 Budget

KUALA LUMPUR:Ahead of the Third Meeting, Third Term of the 14th Parliament which will open tomorrow (November 2), some focus will be on the longest session this year.

In addition to the motion of confidence and no-confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, here are some other important things for you to know:

1.The 2021 Budget will be tabled on November 6. This is the first budget presentation for Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz under the administration of the Perikatan Nasional government (PN).

2. A total of 25 motions of no-confidence in the leadership of Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin as Prime Minister have been submitted by Members of the Dewan Rakyat.

3. Apart from that, two motions of confidence in Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin are also listed in the Order of the Meeting.

4. This meeting will be attended by 221 MPs only after the Batu Sapi parliamentary seat becomes vacant after its incumbent, Datuk Liew Vui Keong passed away on October 2.

5. COVID-19 security and prevention controls are becoming tighter as all MPs including officers,
    management, media personnel and general staff are required to undergo the COVID-19 test.

6. In fact, MPs from Sabah must undergo quarantine for14 days before being allowed to     
    attend the sessions, in accordance with the conditions presented earlier.

7. This session is going to be the longest meeting for this year which will last for 27 days.
