PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar who was released from police remand at 12.15 today questioned her arrest and accused the police of power abuse.
“I have immunity granted to me under the Article 63 (2) of the Federal Constitutions to raise issues at the Parliament. This will affect other MPs from raising issues now,” she told reporters.
“This is an abuse of power of the Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar and the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak who had allowed such action to be taken,” she said.
She said her lawyers will take legal action for her arrest.

The Lembah Pantai member of Parliament had also thanked her supporters who were present and called on them to extend their support to others like activists Adam Adli and DAP Youth chief Teo Kok Seong.
“Support has to be continued because my arrest will not be the last one,” Nurul Izzah said.
Burul Izzah was brought out from Jinjang lockup to her house at Bukit Segambut to take something that was related to her sedition charge before she was brought to the IPD Dang Wangi to record her statement.
She arrived at the IPD Dang Wangi at 11.15am.
Meanwhile, her lawyer R. Sivarasa has accused the Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar of lying to the public on the remand of the opposition lawmaker yesterday.
He said Khalid’s statement last night on her arrest and remand was malicious and illegal.
