Two men armed with an axe robbed a goldsmith shop of more than RM80,000 worth of jewellery at about 2pm today.

The heist at the premises located not far from a fast food restaurant was over in five minutes and the two robbers wearing full face helmets fled on a motorcycle.

In the incident only one employee was working at the shop and it was learnt the shop did not have a security guard.

Miri police chief Gan Tian Kee told Bernama, police were on a manhunt for the two suspects.
