PAS hopes that the resolution to condemn Israel's atrocities on Palestine would be debated soon at the current Dewan Rakyat sitting.
PAS secretary-general Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan said PAS tabled the resolution today following the attacks by Israeli troops on the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem since July 14, resulting in the death of two Israel soldiers and two Palestinian civilians.
"These atrocities are the worse incursions. We submitted the resolution so that it could be debated and we condemn Israel's actions.
"We hope the resolution gets the support of all the members of Parliament, regardless of political party. If it had been tabled by others, we would have supported it," he said at a press conference in Parliament today.
Earlier, at a separate press conference, Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said all parties must urge Israel to stop the closure of the Al Aqsa Mosque and allow Muslims to pray there.
