KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia registered another 19,105 new COVID-19 cases as of midnight Sunday, taking the overall total to 3,993,124 since the pandemic hit the country.
According to the Ministry of Health (MOH), there are 386 new imported cases, with 18,719 being local transmissions.
The data shows that there are currently 274,059 active cases.
MOH reported a total of 28,250 new recoveries, bringing the total number patients recovered and discharged to 3,684,665.
Earlier today, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said 71 people were reported dead due to COVID-19 as of yesterday, including 26 that was classified as Brought-In-Dead (BID).
The death toll has now reached 34,400.
Meanwhile, about 371 patients are being held in intensive care and 203 of those are in need of assisted breathing.
