KOTA BHARU:Confusion between parties in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) can be resolved if all parties sit at the same table and negotiate, said PAS Vice President, Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah.
He said, PAS remained steadfast in supporting the PN government and at the same time strengthening the Muafakat Nasional.
"Of course, if the political situation is uncertain and unstable, then the best option is to dissolve Parliament and give the people a chance to make a choice. Only the issue now that we are in a COVID-19 pandemic situation that must be considered.
"I think it can be done, all these (leaders) are clever people, if we discuss well and look at the broader interests, not the interests of a particular group or party, see the interests of the country and the people, then it may be resolved.
"For me, the situation is not too critical even if there are issues, like Bersatu with UMNO, the no-confidence motion. But I think this matter can be resolved," he told the media after the Kelantan government exco meeting at the Kota Darulnaim Complex, on Wednesday.
Mohd Amar said this when asked to comment on the current situation of national politics.
In this regard, he urged all party leaders to prioritise the public interest when the country is facing an increase in COVID-19 cases.
He said, all party leaders need to ease the tense political atmosphere of the country by giving priority to the interests of the people.
In a related development, UMNO announced a political truce to be implemented to ensure that the agenda addresses COVID-19 and helps the people who are in distress.
UMNO President, Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, said the party also at the same time took a stand to support the Perikatan Nasional government (PN) in focusing on the agenda to help the people and the country face COVID-19 as well as the economic downturn.
