Big turnout proves growing support to BN

A big turnout at the Jelutong parliamentary constituencys reception in honour of Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin here Tuesday illustrates the people's growing support to Barisan Nasional (BN).

BN Jelutong Parliamentary Constituency coordinator Ng Fook On said the presence of about 5,000 people, mostly Chinese, at the function was a positive sign for it signified the increasingly acceptance of the BN in Penang.

"It's amazing that we've got a big turnout despite today being a working day and this proves that the people are coming back to support BN," he told reporters at the event.

Wong Ah Shui, 77, said the BN government today was different and better than that of 2008 for it had been dishing out more assistance to the people.

"BN's concern on the welfare of the people has changed my perception on the BN government. They deserve the support of the people," he added.

Chew Lian Sim, 65, said he was happy BN leaders led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and his deputy had often visited Penang and this showed their concern on the welfare of the people.

"They gave out aid to the people of various races amid difficult economic environment. They have eased the burden of the people, ensured that business thrived again, and enabled the people to improve their livelihood," he added.
