The forest area in Batu Caves caught on fire today with smoke blanketing Gombak and nearby areas.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant operations director Mohd Sani Harul said they had received the distress call at 10.42am today.
He said the fire was about 60 metres above the ground.
Firemen from Selayang, Rawang and Gombak Selatan together with 60 volunteers were at the scene to put out the fire.
Authorities are still investigating the incident and said the current dry and hot weather could have caused the fire.
