Deputy International Trade and Industry IMITI) minister, Datuk Ahmad Maslan aims to popularize his new hashtag known as #tambahpendapatan.
He said the new hashtag is in line with the government’s effort in increasing the people’s income.
“This is what the International Trade and Industry Ministry (MITI) aims to concentrate on this year. I myself want to help increase the people’s income and the tagline on my Twitter account now is tambah pendapatan.
“This means what kind of ideas can be generated by agencies under MITI in helping to increase the people’s income.
“This is important when we talk about the cost of living,” said Ahmad when he was met by reporters after attending the National Book Award appreciation ceremony here on Monday.
The Pontian MP also views the hashtag #tambahpendapatan as a more positive matter.
“This is different from #2kerja. We want to popularize #tambahpendapatan which is more positive compared to#2kerja,” he added.
Ahmad also regrets being aimed by social media groups which twisted his statement posted on Twitter.
“I don’t like it. I do not like matters like this because if we want to we can view the matter in a positive manner. Try spinning the matter into something positive,” said Ahmad.
He however stressed that he will continue to face any challenges brought upon by social media users this year.
“It is better to be a follower if we can’t make suggestions as a leader. The suggestions however should viewed correctly and not out of context,” said Ahmad.
He added that he had forgiven several quarters who was said to have twisted his statement.
