The High Court today allowed Sentul Raya Sdn Bhd's application for vacant possession of Kampung Railway, Sentul and ordered the area's 153 villagers to vacate the land.
Judge Datin Zabariah Mohd Yusof rendered her decision in chambers in the presence of lawyers B.Thangaraj and P.Uthayakumar who represented Sentul Raya and the villagers, respectively.
Uthayakumar told reporters that Zabariah had reached the decision after it was found that Sentul Raya was the registered owner of the land.
On Dec 2 2011, Sentul Raya had filed an originating summons claiming the defendants had entered the land without their permission or agreement.
The defendants had filed a counter affidavit on Jan 11 this year stating that they had been living in the area since 1884 and had the permission of Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad to do so.
