A group of expeditors found about 100 pieces of meteor debris in the Chebarkul Lake.
It was the biggest finding of debris in the ten days after the Chelyabinsk city was hit with a meteor that injured almost a thousand people on Feb 15.
One of the debris weighed 1.8kg and was found about 20 feet-deep in the lake, covered in ice.
According to the Ural Federal University committee member, more research has to be carried out in the lake for complete assessment.
During the shocking incident, the meteor flew through the Ural Mountains before landing in Chelyabinsk, when the majority of the victims were on their way to work.
Most of them sustained minor injuries from the flying debris that hit them.
