Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today congratulated the national football squad for qualifying to the AFF Suzuki Cup finals after defeating Vietnam at the semifinals at Hanoi, Vietnam.
"Alhamdullilah and congratulation to Harimau Malaya. Victory with Style! I am very proud together with all Malaysians," said Najib tweeted.
The Malaysian squad who lost 2-1 during the first leg semifinals at last Sunday, beat Vietnam with a 5-4 aggregate win at the My Dinh Stadium in Hanoi, Vietnam.
Malaysia will meet Thailand in the finals, with the first game to be played in Bangkok on the 17th Dec. The return leg will take place in Malaysia on the 20th.
