UMNO President, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today chaired the UMNO Supreme Council meeting at Menara Dato Onn in Putra World Trade Centre, here today.

What makes today's meeting, which kicked off at approximately 4pm, more interesting is the mounting speculation concerning the Kedah Menteri Besar tussle that the council will follow up and the strategies to improve the party.

Also present were deputy president, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and vice-president, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and wing leaders.

UMNO vice president  Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal was nowhere to be seen while Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein is reportedly abroad.

A press conference is expected to be held at 7pm.
