Eighty residents comprising 19 families are currently sheltered at three relief centres in the district of Serian, about 50 km from here, as of 8 am today.

Civil Defence Department state public relations officer Siti Huzaimah Ibrahim said 36 flood victims are staying at Surau Darul Hadhari Kampung Rimba Padi, while 34, at Balairaya Slabi Entukuh.

She said the 10 residents comprising two families who had to be evacuated following a landslide near their homes three days ago are still staying at Balairaya Koran.

Meanwhile, flood waters in the affected areas are receding and being monitored by the department, she said.
