All quarters should not politicise the issue on the strained diplomatic relations between Malaysia and North Korea, said Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir.
He said as citizens of Malaysia, they should have faith and trust in Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to address the issue and find an amicable solution to it.
"Perak supports the stand announced by the prime minister because it involves diplomatic relations between the two countries.
"It (relations) is not officially severed yet and we believe in the capability of the prime minister," he added.
He told this to reporters after opening the Mini Safety Carnival at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Layang-Layang Kiri here today.
North Korea is reported to have barred Malaysians in the country from leaving North Korea to ensure the safety of its diplomats and citizens in Malaysia.
The action followed Malaysia's action in expelling North Korean Ambassador Kang Chol for making wild and baseless allegations against Malaysia concerning investigations on the murder of North Korean Kim Chol, widely reported to be Kim Jong-nam, the estranged half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, last Feb 13.
