KUALA LUMPUR: " I didn’t feel it, just like normal jab," admitted Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin after being the first individual to be injected with the COVID-19 vaccine in the country.
Speaking to the media after being vaccinated, Muhyiddin expressed his gratitude besides being confident that the vaccine was safe and effective.
He also called on Malaysians to register through the MySejahtera application to get the vaccine immediately.
"If you look at my condition so far, thank God. So, I want to call on all Malaysians and those living in Malaysia whom we have decided to be given free COVID-19 vaccine injection.
"Come forward to register in MySejahtera so that it can be determined when it is your turn to be given the COVID-19 vaccine," he said.
Muhyiddin urged the people to be confident and believe that the government's ongoing efforts are to break the COVID-19 infection.
"So, I would like to once again call on all of us to support efforts to ensure that our country will be COVID-19 free in a short period of time," he said.
Earlier, he and the Director-General of Health, Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, and four other frontline staff received the COVID-19 vaccine.
The injection performed at the Precinct 11 District Health Centre Vaccination Centre (PPV) was symbolic of the launch of the National COVID-19 Immunisation Program.
