COVID-19: 660 new cases, 4 deaths in Sabah reported today

KUALA LUMPUR:A total of 660 new positive cases of COVID-19 were reported for two days in a row with almost 65 percent of them involving infections in Sabah.

Director-General of Health, Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said, the increase in the new infection made the cumulative number of cases reach 17,540 with 5,768 active cases.

"If you look at the main breakdown of the number of cases today, Sabah still continues to record the highest number of cases at 429 cases (65 percent).

"It was found that more and more screening activities in the field are being carried out there and more sample test results have been obtained," he said in a press conference via Facebook of the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) here, on Wednesday.

He also informed, there are four deaths due to the pandemic in Sabah, making the total number of COVID-19 victims in the country is 167.
