The deadline to appeal for the 1Malaysia People's Aid (BR1M) 2015 which should have ended on March 31 has been extended to April 15.
"The extension of the appeal period will provide an opportunity for failed applicants to file an appeal at any of the nearest Inland Revenue Board (IRB) branches," said the Finance Ministry in a statement Thursday.
The statement also said the government had agreed for the second BRIM 2015 payout to be made from May 28 onwards.
Overall, nearly 7.28 million recipients have benefited from BR1M 2015 and of that 4.17 million are categorized under the household income of less than RM3,000 while 410,000 are those with a household income of between RM3,001 and RM4,000.
"The rest 2.7 million recipients are unmarried individuals," the statement said, adding that the government had allocated RM5.3 billion for the BR1M programme.
