60 schools closed due to flood

60 schools were closed in Kelantan and Terengganu due to the third wave of floods that hit the two states.

It affected more than 25,000 primary and secondary school students. The school session had to be closed on Wednesday.

According to the Director of the Kelantan Education Department (JPN) Hussain Awang, involved is 7 schools in Tanah Merah District, 18 in the Pasir Mas, one in Tumpat, 4 in Kuala Krai and 3 in Machang.

Among the school which are closed, Sekolah Kebangsaan Bukit Jarum, Sekolah Kebangsaan Chandi, Sekolah Kebangsaan Kampung Panjang and Sekolah Kebangsaan Kulim.


Meanwhile in Terengganu JPN informed the closure involved 22 primary schools and five secondary schools.

Schools involved were 14 in Loka, 8 in Hulu Terengganu and 5 in Setiu.
The schools are closed due to flood and the schools are used as an evacuation center.
